Jack L. Martin, Sr. 88, Pittsboro, IN, WWII Navy Veteran, died May 11, 2016 with his loving wife, Nan Elizabeth, by his side.  Jack was born May 7, 1928 in the shadows of IMS.  For over 50 years, he enjoyed his work in auto racing, but was most content staying behind the scenes.   As a former accessory company rep, track executive and currently serving as Executive Director of the Indianapolis 500 Oldtimers, he continued to be a key figure in the racing community up until his death. At the young age of 14 Jack ran away and joined the US Navy. Achieved Gunners Mate 1st Class and was stationed aboard Merchant Marine Ships as an Armed Guard.  He proudly fought in WWII and Korea.  He is survived by his brother Patrick (Linda), his son JL and daughter Marilyn.  He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. with a service at 1:30 p.m. at the American Legion Brownsburg Post #331, 636 E.
